Noel 2006

We are excited to spend our first Christmas together and wish we could spend it with all of you. We have enjoyed caroling, gift wrapping at the mall for charity and making sugar cookies. We love you all very much and hope you are having a wonderful holiday season. Merry Christmas!

Spectacle

On Dec. 12th, David played a gig at a cafe in Ottawa with Dylan Morgan on bass. There wasn't a big crowd and the guitar kept going out of tune, but we had a fun night.
Le 12 décembre, David a joué dans un café avec son ami Dylan Moragn à la basse.Il n'y avait pas grande foule...mais on s'est bien amusés.

Le Restaurant du Parlement Canadien

Since September, David has been interning with Rob Merrifield, a Member of Parliament who is Chair of the Health Committee in the House of Commons and Co-Chair of the Canada-US Interparliamentary Group. Just before David's last week, Rob took us and the other two members of his staff, and their spouses, to dinner in the restaurant on the 6th floor of Parliament. If you ever get invited (its for Members of Parliament only), make sure you get the dessert buffet!

Depuis le mois de Septembre, David est en stage avec Rob Merrifield, un membre du parlement qui est président du comité pour la santé et vice-président du comité interparlementaire pour les Etats-Unis et le Canada. Dans la dernière semaine du stage de David, Rob a invité les membres de son bureau et leurs épouses au restaurant du parlement canadien. Si vous avez un jour la chance d'y aller (pour membres du parlement seulement)- gardez de la place pour le buffet de desserts!

David in NYC & DC

David a passé 10 jours à New York City à la fin du mois de Novembre. Il a pu passer du temps avec son père et aller visiter sa mère qui était en voyage à Washington( elle habite en Californie maintenant).
La dernière photo est celle du batiment ou David a passé 4 jours de ses "vacances" à travailler! ( C'est au coin de Wall Street à New York)

At the end of November, David went home to New York City for a week. He enjoyed staying with his Dad and was glad his Mom was in Washington DC (she lives in California) so he could take a bus to see her. He even went back to his summer job and worked 4 days of his "vacation." The bottom picture is his office building, just off of Wall St.

Emilie & Sergio Visit Us

Merci Emilie et Sergio d'être venus nous voir! Quel week-end! Nous avons fait le tour guidé du parlement, célébré l'anniversaire d'Emilie et même découvert des talents cachés à notre soirée de talent!

We were so happy that Emilie and Sergio came to visit us for the weekend. We toured Parliament, played games, ate good meals and lauged a lot. We even played a couple songs at our ward's talent show, each discovering talents we didn't know we had.

La Famille Couture

One of the first things Guillaume said after taking the tour of our apartment was "I like your house!" We do too and were so happy he and his family visited us. While Rebecca and Yohann explored their future home and Sarah worked, David got to play at the park with Estelle and Guillaume. Please come visit us soon!
Merci d'être venus nous visiter! Yohann et Rebecca ont pu visiter des maisons à acheter, Sarah a travaillé et David a pu jouer avec ces 2 petits bouts de chou! et avec tout ça, on a quand même passé du bon temps ensemble! Revenez nous voir bientô, on vous aime!

Notre Premier Visiteur

We invited David's dad to stay with us in honor of his birthday and were glad that he was the first person to visit our new apartment. We enjoyed a private tour of Parliament, including Rob's office(the MP David worked with), birthday cake and of course a movie. This picture is in the recently refurbished Library of Parliament. As a side note, one of the Christmas gifts Rob gave us were coasters made from part of the original floor of the Library of Parliament.
En l'honneur de son 50ième anniversaire, nous avons invité Jeff , le père de David, à venir nous visiter. Cette photo a été prise dans la bibliothèque du parlement qui a nouvellement été rénovée.

Gatineau, Québec

Gatineau est située en face de la capitale du Canada et est à quelques minutes seulement d'un des plus beaux parcs nationaux. Une location parfaite!

In many ways this is the perfect place to live. We are minutes away from a beautiful provincial park in one direction and minutes away from the nation's capital in the other. We can go for a beautiful hike and visit a world class museum in the same afternoon! The picture on the right is the view of Parliament from the Quebec side of the river.

De Gatineau, on peut voir le parlement sur la colline du coté ontarien de la rivière des outaouais. Et sur la gauche, vous verrez Gatineau telle que vue depuis la colline parlementaire.

We are only 2 hours away from Montreal!

Et avec tout ça on n'est qu'à 2 heures de route de la famille à Montréal!

Honeymoon

Our honeymoon was great. We ate at good restaurants, enjoyed nice hikes and even did an 8km canoe trip followed by a 16km bike ride. Of course, the best part was that we got to spend lots of time together.
Nous avons passé une petite semaine dans la région du Mont Tremblant. Nous avons visité les reaturants et villages et aussi vu la nature de ce magnifique parc national en canoé, vélo et randonné. Le meilleur est que nous avons pu passer tout ce temps ensemble en amoureux!

Le Plus Beau Jour de Nos Vies

Nous nous sommes mariés le 26 Aout 2006 dernier. C'était sans conteste le plus beau jour de nos vies! Merci à tous ceux qui ont voyagé de très loin pour être là avec nous. Nous vous aimons tous!

We were married on Aug 26, 2006, certainly the best day of our lives. We were so happy that so many people made the trip to be with us. We love you all!
